Do You Need Branding Before a Website?
Thinking about a new website? Sort your brand identity first — here's exactly what needs to be locked in before a single page gets designed.

You're ready for a new website. Before you brief a designer, there's a step worth taking first: figuring out what your brand actually looks and sounds like.
Skip it, and you end up making brand decisions inside the website build — under time pressure, one page at a time. That's how you get a homepage that doesn't match your Instagram, and a logo that gets "fixed" six months after launch.
What "branding first" actually means
Before a single wireframe gets drawn, you want these locked in:
- Logo
- Colour palette
- Typography
- Photography and illustration style
- Tone of voice
None of this has to be a six-month process. But it needs to happen before the website, not alongside it — a site built on a real identity holds together across every page; one built on placeholder colours and "we'll figure out fonts later" usually gets a redesign within a year.
The short version
A website is where your brand shows up. It works a lot better when there's a brand to show.
If you're planning a new site and haven't nailed your brand identity yet, let's sort that first — take a look at our branding services, or get in touch with our team in Delhi.
